The rise of unit sales for Xbox One, Ps4, Nintendo Switch & 3Ds since of the epidemic.

I decided to pick this topic because I was in the market for a Nintendo Switch and every time I would go to Walmart or even online to get one,they were always sold out. I even ask the employee back at the electronics department when they would get more to come in and he said it would be a couple days because every time they would put them out people would buy them. Yeah, I could have gone one Bay or amazon,but the sellers would jack the prices up by hundreds, because they knew people wanted them, and I for one will not be paying for those prices.I would also see parents on Facebook asking if anyone knew where to buy switches, because they couldn’t find them. So, when we got this project about visual data with the epidemic, I started wondering if all the game console were going through the same thing.

The person I have picked to interview is non other then my mom because she has witness and help me search for a switch.

The chart below depicts the total sales around the world in the millions of each console in 2019.

The chat below shows the what the sales of each consoles have risen to in 2020.

The Nintendo Switch was the top choice in gaining 16.3 million in sales. Next was the Ps4 with a gain of 8.1 sales. In third place is the Xbox with 4.61 million in sales, and in last place with a decrease in sales in the Nintendo 3Ds.

And this all might be a coincidence that the consoles got a rise in sales, but I believe that it's because all of the United States is stuck at home in quarantine with nothing to do, so they go and buy a console that will keep them entertained. The first sign of the virus was back in November but didn't hit its peak in China until January and February and everyone knows that is when the new year is. So, is it coincidence that the units sales went up that much already with all this going on, I don't think so.
